Property Sale Worksheet
For a rental, second home or investment property sold during the year.
Dig out both statements of adjustment — the one from when you bought and the one from when you sold. Almost every figure on this worksheet comes off those two documents.
If the property was your home for the whole time you owned it, the principal residence exemption usually removes the gain entirely — but the sale still has to be reported. Fill this in anyway and we will apply the exemption.
When you have finished, email it to us. Click Download as spreadsheet above, then send the file to taxinfo@msacpa.ca with the property address in the subject line.
Send your supporting documents to the same address at the same time. Nothing is submitted from this page — the spreadsheet is yours until you email it.
This worksheet goes alongside your personal tax interview sheet, not instead of it. Fill in both.
